Nitay-Yair Levi
Managing Director

Nitay-Yair is the founder of Koenig Heritage. He is the guardian of the company’s uncompromising value investing principles, conservative business fundamentals and defensive investment strategy. Throughout his career he has strongly advocated for risk aversion which is reflected in his attitude towards leveraged buyouts and short term thinking among others. He is the developer of Koenig Heritage’s non-discretionary “home, health and food” investment strategy and principles.

Nitay-Yair has extensive experience in private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions and Board roles. Prior to Koenig Heritage, He was the founder of a funds management firm and co-founder of a private equity investment firm. In those roles he acquired and managed 10 businesses before exiting to found Koenig Heritage. Nitay-Yair commenced his career as a corporate lawyer with Baker & McKenzie in Sydney and Hong Kong specialising in private equity and mergers & acquisitions.

Nitay-Yair is the Managing Director, a member of the Board and the Investment Committee.

Education

Nitay-Yair holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Master of Accounting from Bond University.

Valerian Voegele
Chief Investment Officer

Valerian is Koenig Heritage’s Chief Investment Officer. He most recently founded and subsequently sold a UK-based health retailing business. He also helped Mercari (a Japanese marketplace unicorn) launch in the UK as VP of Operations building a team of over 30 within a year. Before building his own business, Valerian worked for Tesco (UK-based retailer) helping to maximise the value of its $6bn revenue portfolio of ancillary businesses.

Valerian commenced his career working in Private Equity, Corporate Restructuring and Investment Banking for MFS, Ernst & Young and Nomura Bank respectively.

Valerian is a member of the Investment Committee and brings a wealth of operating and strategic expertise.

Education

Biochemistry and Genetic Engineering. Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of International Relations, Master of Accounting and Master of Finance from Bond University. Chartered Financial Analyst.

Steven Goodman
Non-Executive Director

Steven is a Non-Executive Director of Chailease Holding Corp, a ~$6bn finance company listed in Taiwan and is chairman of its Remuneration Committee, a member of its Audit Committee and a member of its Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development Committee. He also is a director and CEO of Teras International Corp, an Asian-based litigation funding business.

He has extensive corporate governance experience in the UK, USA and Asia serving in various roles, including as director and general counsel for listed international companies.

Prior to his board roles, Steven had a distinguished career as an international corporate lawyer. Throughout his legal career he held various senior partnership roles with leading international law firms including as head of the Worldwide Corporate Group, global management board member and Senior Partner Asia. He is a qualified solicitor (non-practicing) in the UK and Hong Kong and was previously a partner with Berwin Leighton (London, New York and Brussels), Denton Wilde Sapte (London and Hong Kong) and Jones Day (Hong Kong).

Steven brings significant corporate governance and legal expertise to the Board.

Chris Levy
Chairman of the Investment Committee

Chris is the Managing Director of Marketing Imagination Group. He has been a Director of eight companies, Chairman of three companies and two Charities. For the past three years he has been Chairman of a group of 14 CEOs of major Franchising companies.

Chris began his career with companies including Nestle, Jardine Matheson, Richardson-Merrell Pty Ltd, and Sunburst Foods Pty Ltd. He was the CEO of Sizzlers Restaurants Australia and CEO of Pizza Hut Australia and Area Vice President for South East Asia. In Pizza Hut he grew the business to over 200 stores across Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Japan and built a strong network of both franchised and company-owned outlets.

In 1983 Chris was the Founding President of the Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) and was admitted to the Hall of Fame in 2003. He carried out a major study for the FCA in 2014.

Chris was the CEO of The Executive Connection Australia and served in that role for nearly a decade. The Executive Connection is a worldwide organisation with over 14,000 CEO members in Australia, USA, UK, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, and Russia. Throughout his tenure he personally coached and mentored over 200 business leaders across a wide range of industries.

Chris brings decades of marketing, operational and people expertise to the Board and also serves as the Chairman of our Investment Committee.
